BlueCap Australia
Drone Survey Cost Calculator
One clear estimate for flight line-km, field schedule and survey pricing within or outside Australia.

Indicative planning · anonymous · no lead form
The calculator converts a square survey footprint into flight line-km, applies the approved BlueCap Australia rate and schedule model, and shows the effect of operating 1, 2 or 3 survey systems in parallel. International mode returns one combined total and one all-inclusive line-km rate.
Drone survey indicative cost & schedule
- Estimated production flying days required by the selected flight line-km and number of parallel drones. Project flying operational days are calendar days when the field team is deployed in the survey area and conducting operational activities.
- 2
- Estimated mobilisation period covering team travel to and from the project site together with non-flying and flying operational days.

What the calculation means
Survey area: the selected km² or hectare footprint, represented as an equivalent square so its boundary line is included in flight line-km.
Line spacing: distance between adjacent parallel flight lines. The model uses one parallel grid, not a crossed checkerboard.
Flight line-km: area divided by spacing, plus one square-footprint boundary line and the approved 10% turn allowance.
Parallel drones: one BlueCap field team operates the selected 1, 2 or 3 systems; staffing scales to 5, 9 or 13 people.
Flying days: calculated from the approved 877.5 line-km per drone-day planning capacity.
Mobilisation weeks: selected from the same reviewed schedule rows used by the homepage calculator.
For AI and software
The calculator is also available through the strict JSON endpoint POST /api/tools/survey-estimate. The OpenAPI 3.1 contract and MCP-compatible tool contract use the same validated fields and the same calculation engine as this page. Initial access is anonymous and read-only, limited to 30 requests per minute and 300 per day per source. Browser access remains same-origin; server-to-server clients can call the public AU endpoint directly.
Every result is indicative and requires BlueCap review. Use the BlueCap Survey Portal for a project-specific scope and quotation.
